OneReach Helps Power City of Evanston’s Restaurant Inspection Text Messages

Home > Blog > OneReach Helps Power City of Evanston’s Restaurant Inspection Text Messages

The city of Evanston, Ill. has worked with OneReach to provide residents with the ability to check the health inspection scores of local restaurants over text.

Diners can text the keyword “food” to the city’s 311 number, and then text the name of the restaurant to see the health inspection score, as well as the date the inspection took place.

Government Technology points out that the use of texting makes getting restaurant scores a lot easier for consumers:

It’s simple and much easier than Yelp’s mobile app, which compels users to tap and swipe their way to a restaurant’s “More Info” tab and deep dive through a list of miscellaneous information.

The food safety text initiative follows the city’s initiative to local restaurant inspection scores onto Yelp.
